RIVERVIEW COMMUNITY HIGH SCHOOL: 0.00
Huron almost burnt the new turf at Riverview tonight, because they were on fire. 80 minutes of end to end action saw sophomore goalkeeper, Bradley Hughes, not Bradley Murphy (insert crying laughing face emoji), record his school record setting 7th shutout. Amazing, selfless play from Drew Slane, Noah Manthei, Tony Trupiano and Jack Maxwell in the back had the state ranked Pirates more than flustered. Tyler Toth, Luke Hamilton and Sebastian Horvath were fun to watch and pressed both defensively and offensively while Andy Traster and Carson Downey outworked players on the outside. Ibrahim Muhammad was more than up to the task of running at the Pirate’s defense and creating chances. Brady Fleszar, Ayden Shannon, and Landon Julio all entered the game and added energy and toughness that was a necessity. Both teams had chances but when Andy Traster scored upper corner at the 18 minute mark of the 1st half, everyone went wild. Unfortunately for the Chiefs the goal got called back after the play for some contact before the play. All in all the game ended 0-0 and left everyone scratching their heads to see who was the better team. I guess we'll all have to wait until October 19th under the Huron Lights.
