Despite a strong start, taking the first set 25-19, the momentum quickly shifted. The Chiefs dropped the next two sets 22-25 and 19-25, ultimately falling 1-2.It was a night where things just didn’t click—communication was off, energy was low, and unforced errors added up. The Huron freshman volleyball team took on Airport once again in what turned out to be a tough matchup. The opening set was highly competitive, with both teams battling back and forth and Huron bringing it back in the very end. Unfortunately, Airport managed to see a lot of the openings and from there the girls struggled to find their usual energy and rhythm. Starting off slow in the following sets made it difficult to catch up, and Huron wasn’t able to play at the level they know they’re capable of. Even though the end result didn’t go their way, the game gave the girls a lot to build on. They recognized areas where they can grow—like staying focused after a close set, keeping their intensity up from the very first serve, and finding ways to respond when the momentum shifts. Matches like this are part of the learning process, and the team is already using this experience to get better. While it was a disappointing loss, the girls remain determined and motivated.
