Thurs. Oct. 17 – Huron League Championships @ Willow Metropark Huron Cross Country took some time to honor our seniors and their parents at the Huron League Championship Meet. Senior yard signs lined the course coming in by the three-mile post. Congratulations Class of 2024-25: Evan Banas, Kyle Biller, Jack Fisher, Graham Gamber, Lucas Kuhn, Deegan Richardson, Austin Shastal, Kylah Simpson, Lucas Worrell! For Huron Girls XC, Avery Turk kept the streak alive, placing 3rd overall for the third straight year and earning 1 st Team All-League honors. Kayla Christesen finished in 18 th (22:15.3) improving ten spots from last season. Lillian West broke the 23-minute barrier for the first time, finishing 23 rd with a time of 22:48.1, followed by Alice Williams in 32 nd (23:42.0), Kirsten Perecki 33 rd (23:58.3), Maiya Thomas 35 th (24:21.8), and Stella Mac 37 th (24:57.). As a team the Chiefs finished fifth in the Huron League. (Meet Score/Season Points: Airport 34/32, Milan 59/27, SMCC 82/23, Grosse Ile 81/21, Huron 83/17, Flat Rock 0/0, Jefferson 0/0, Riverview 0/0). In the JV race, Isa Vargo achieved a personal record and her first sub-24 time, finishing 1 st overall with a time of 23:54.6. The Huron Boys XC team claimed their third consecutive Huron League Championship title! Lucas Kuhn was crowned the Huron League Individual Champion (16:17.1), with Luke Dulecki finishing close behind as runner-up (16:20.3). Both earned 1st Team All-League honors. Kyle Biller placed 10 th (18:17.8) and Cameron Crane 12 th , securing 2nd Team All-League honors. Tanner Kuhn, a key contributor, placed 20 th (18:08.0), followed by Broderick Yensch in 30 th with a personal record (19:16.0), and Lucas Worrell in 41 st (20:09.5).
