After the 65 minute drive over to the slice of land east of Trenton, the Chiefs put on a well calculated fight that ended in a 1-0 loss.  Junior Anthony Gill played his best game between the pipes as he was able to save, stop, or steer away, nearly everything that came near him.  Defensively, Shane Gill and Ashton Messina directed traffic and outworked the opposing forwards while encouraging fellow defensemen Hayden Stanczyk, Jack Maxwell, Brady Fleszar, and Noah Manthei.  Chandler McCraight, with help from injured Owen Barnes, Luke Hamilton and Drew Slane was able to keep Grosse Ile from mounting an attack up the middle.  0-0 was the halftime score and the Chiefs were prepared to up their efforts in attempt to snatch the game away from the home team.  Unfortunately for the Chiefs, Grosse Ile hit a one time blast upper back corner that put them in the lead and eventually delivered the game to their win column.  Alex Davenport almost scored late in the game when he beat the keeper and the ball grazed off the trailing thigh to be steered away for a corner.  Tyler Toth, Andy Traster, and Evan Town all tried to get through up top and connect with Davenport, but the clock was not in their favor.  The Red Devils were fortunate that newcomer Ethan Woolery did not see the field action because if his skills were at par with his jokes, there would have been no stopping him.
