The weather was beautiful, sun shining and warm, a little too breezy though. Gusts of wind reached 30+ mph and sent a little kids kite hurling towards the heavens as others lost their popcorn. Huron played into the wind the first half and scored 5 minutes in from a Brendan Robbins corner to Owen Barnes who tallied the header. Zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz, oh sorry I must have dosed off again, just like during the game. So let me give the quick recap, sleep sleep sleep sleep sleep.....sleep sleep........sleep sleep sleep.....sleep, Cody Brenner bloody nose, sleep, Ricky Emelian dribbles everyone scores solo goal, sleep sleep, Braden Damiani has head on collision with two incoming forwards and comes out with the ball, sleep.....sleep....yawn...Ricky dribbles everyone again gives off to Nick Clark II who scores, yawn.....yawn....games over! Now onto the real excitement of the evening, JV!
JV 5-0 shutout stuns Milan crowd. Tyler Toth scored from a Brady Fleszar pass to start the game off. The Chiefs stayed connected and moved the ball with purpose the whole time creating multiple opportunities that started from the back with strong defensive play from Juniors Brendan Pasek, Alec Richardson, Carter Bouchard, and freshmen Drew Slane. After controlling for a bit, freshmen midfielder Nik Crispin assisted freshmen Evan Town to give the Chiefs a 2-0 lead. Sophomores Shane Gill, and Chandler McCraight ran the middle while junior Noah Kilmark and freshmen Anthony Gill and Nick Hinks worked hard to control pace and tempo. The Chiefs went up 3-0 when leading goal scorer and younger brother to the former amazing Sydney and Ryan Toth, decided to pocket another from a Shane Gill pass. Fleszar scored a solo effort just before McCraight also scored unassisted. Freshmen Jack Miller helped out on the front line and was narrowly called off side on what was going to be a goal. Junior Cody Egler was credited with the shutout and about 12 minutes of running time.
