Huron Boys XC Team Claim Runner-up Title @ Airport Invite

Sat. Oct. 21 – Airport Haunted Harvest Invitational@ Airport High School

Following a dispute surrounding the course distance at the Airport Haunted Harvest Invitational, the organizers have taken measures to address the issue. After a remeasurement, it was determined that the course falls short of the initially claimed 5K distance and will now be officially recognized as a 3-mile.

 

In the men’s varsity race, the Chiefs claimed the Airport Invite Runner-up trophy with four runners medaling among the top 25: Luke Dulecki finished in  5th (16:36.7), followed by Abdul Ghennewa 6th (16:43.7), Kyle Biller 18th (17:21.5^), and Louie Macon 20th (17:31.6^). Lucas Worrell placed 34th (18:04.2^), Evan Banas 56th (18:07.3), and Cole Druyor 57th (19:08.6^) out of 101 runners.

In the JV race, Deegan Richardson led the team placing in 8th overall (19:25.7^) earning a medal in the top 10. Broderick Yensch narrowly missed a medal, coming in 11th (19:50.8^), with Ben Holbrook close behind in 13th (19:57.8^), followed by Garrett Cheney 14th (20:10.4^), Austin Krause 18th (20:38.6^), Garrett Patrick 23rd (21:13.1^), Jack Fisher 28th (22:00.5^), Joel Lazenby 29th (22:13.2^), Drew Blosser 35th (23:56.6), George Broughton 37th (24:00.6^), and Jacob Bentley 41st (24:56.0^).
