• Huron Chiefs Varsity Grabs Lead In Fifth Inning For Victory Over Trenton
• Huron Chiefs Varsity took the lead late in the game in a 5-4 victory over Trenton on Monday. The game was tied at four with Huron Chiefs Varsity batting in the bottom of the fifth when Anna Atherton singled on a 1-1 count, scoring one run.
• Trenton got things moving in the first inning. Trenton scored one run when Mulford singled.
• Leah Stacy was the winning pitcher for Huron Chiefs Varsity. She allowed eight hits and four runs over four and two-thirds innings, striking out five. Gracie Brinkerhoff and Madison Campbell entered the game out of the bullpen and helped to close out the game in relief.
• Memering took the loss for Trenton. She surrendered five runs on nine hits over six innings, striking out two and walking one.
• Huron Chiefs Varsity socked one home run on the day. Faith Callahan had a dinger in the third inning.
• Huron Chiefs Varsity collected nine hits. Callahan, Atherton, Erin Bressler, and Chelsea Hamilton each had multiple hits for Huron Chiefs Varsity. Callahan went 3-for-3 at the plate to lead Huron Chiefs Varsity in hits. Huron Chiefs Varsity didn't commit a single error in the field. Bressler had nine chances in the field, the most on the team.
• Trenton collected ten hits on the day. Mulford, Wakham, S Ture, and Scott each collected multiple hits for Trenton. Mulford led Trenton with three hits in three at bats.

"Stay scrappy! That is our theme this year. A scrap and grind mentality. We always want to maintain striking distance when we are behind and we did just that. Kept the game close through 5 innings of work. We were down 2. With one out, Callahan singled. Erin Bressler doubled and moved Faith to third. With two runners in scoring position and Hamilton up to bat, she doubled and scored both to tie the game. Leah grounded out and moved Hamilton to third, and Anna Atherton had the game winning hit/ RBI to give us the lead. We worked hard for the win. Leah Stacy pitched an excellent game and Brinkerhoff and Campbell added valuable innings to work us out of a pinch. So proud of the kids. Two must win games.
