The Varsity Huron Chiefs lost a close one Thursday night in their opener against Livonia Churchill by a score of 35-28.  QB Cash Moczydlowsky was 12 of 15 passing for 80 yards and 2 TD's.  He also had 4 carries for 57 yards.  Ryan Anderson was 1 for 1 passing for 79 yards and a TD, and he had 3 receptions for 23 yards.  Hunter Mihal had one reception for 79 yards and a TD.  Brad Hughes had 5 receptions for 40 yards and 1 TD.  Jake Furkas had 1 reception for 22 yards and a TD.  Austin O'Dell had 10 carries for 24 yards and a TD.  Defensively, the team was led by Drew Ladach (14 tackles), Nate Matsos (12 tackles), Ryan Anderson (8 tackles, 1 fumble recovery, and 1 pass breakup), Christian Fields (8 tackles and 1 sack), Jamil Brown (5 tackles and 1 sack), Sebastian Ibarra (7 tackles) and Landon Hall (4 tackles and a forced fumble).  Other notable defensive contributions came from Austin O'Dell, Dylan Hudkins and Matthew Nutter.  The Varsity Chiefs (0-1 Overall; 0-0 Huron League) will try to get their first win of the season on Friday, September 6 when they travel to Monroe St. Mary's Catholic Central for their first Huron League game.  Go Chiefs!
