Boys Varsity Football vs. Ford High School

Win: 40.00 - 6.00

The Varsity Chiefs closed their 2024 season at home against the Trojans of Detroit Henry Ford High School, and they came away with a 40-6 win.  Senior Dylan Hudkins returned the opening kickoff 75 yards for a touchdown to start the night out in exciting fashion.  QB Cash Moczydlowsky was 5 of 6 for 57 yards and a touchdown.  He also had 4 carries for 24 yards.  Austin O’Dell had 13 carries for 34 yards and a rushing touchdown and 1 reception for 24 yards and a receiving touchdown.  Ryan Anderson had 3 receptions for 39 yards and 2 rushes, one resulting in a touchdown.  Jamil Brown had 4 carries for 19 yards and a rushing touchdown.  Brad Hughes had 2 carries for 11 yards.  Landon Hall had 4 carries for 14 yards.  Defensively, the Chiefs were led by Drew Ladach (8 tackles, 1 sack, 1 TFL), Nate Matsos (7 tackles), Dylan Hudkins (5 tackles), Hunter Mihal (6 tackles, fumble recovery, 1 TFL), Jamil Brown (4 tackles, 1 TFL), Landon Hall (4 tackles, 1 sack, 1 TFL), George Toma (3 tackles, 1 sack, 1 TFL), Matthew Nutter (3 tackles, 1 sack, 1 TFL), Christian Fields (5 tackles), Harvey Frye (fumble recovery) and Jayden Lundy (1 tackle and a fumble recovery).  The Chiefs finished the season (4-5 Overall; 3-4 Huron League).  They will look to bounce back next season as they return 6 experienced starters on both sides of the ball.  Go Chiefs!

On October 18, 2024, the Huron Chiefs faced the Flat Rock Rams at home in the War for the Oar.  Despite a close first half, Flat Rock came away with the win by a score of 35-14.  QB Cash Moczydlowsky  was 11 of 19 for 108 yards and a passing touchdown.  Ryan Anderson had 5 receptions for 74 yards and a touchdown and one carry for 3 yards.  Brad Hughes had 4 receptions for 31 yards and 2 carries for 11 yards and a rushing touchdown.  Austin O’Dell had 11 carries for 47 yards and one reception for 6 yards.  Hunter Mihal had 2 receptions for 23 yards.  Cam Grant had one completion for 26 yards on a fake punt.  Ryan Marvaso was 2/2 on PAT’s.  Defensively, The Chiefs were led by Nate Matsos (8 tackles), Austin O’Dell (8 tackles), Dylan Hudkins (6 tackles), Ryan Anderson (6 tackles), Jamil Brown (6 tackles), Drew Ladach (5 tackles), Landon Hall (6 tackles), Caleb Hall (5 tackles), Noah Herron (4 tackles and a fumble recovery), and Josh Lisiscki (fumble recovery). Jake Furkas had 3 kickoff returns averaging 25 yards per return.  This loss brought the Chiefs record to (3-5 Overall; 3-4 Huron League).

The Varsity Chiefs hosted the Red Devils of Grosse Ile on Friday, October 11 and won by a score of 31-7.  QB Cash Moczydlowsky was 8 of 11 passing for 171 yards and 2 touchdowns.  He also had 7 carries for 36 yards and a rushing touchdown.  Ryan Anderson had 4 receptions for 120 yards and 2 touchdowns and one carry for 5 yards.  Austin O'Dell had 23 carries for 106 yards and a touchdown, and he had one reception for 14 yards. Brad Hughes had one reception for 19 yards.  Jake Furkas had one reception for 11 yards.  Noah Banas had one reception for 7 yards.  Landon Hall had one carry for 6 yards.  Jamil Brown had one carry for 4 yards.  Johann Vasquez kicked a 23 yard field goal.  Ryan Marvaso was 4/4 on PAT attempts. Defensively, Huron was led by Jamil Brown (6 tackles), Josh Lisiscki (5 tackles, sack, TFL), Cam Grant (4 tackles, interception), Nate Matsos (2 tackles, interception), Drew Ladach (2 tackles), Christian Fields (3 tackles), Ryan Anderson (4 tackles), Jake Furkas (2 tackles), Landon Hall (3 tackles), Kiyler Caswell (2 tackles), Noah Herron (4 tackles) and Sebastian Ibarra (2 tackles). Jayden Lundy recovered a kickoff deep in Grosse Ile territory.  The Chiefs (3-4 Overall; 3-3 Huron League) will face off against Flat Rock on Friday, October 18 at Arrowhead Stadium in The War for the Oar.  Game time is 7pm.  Go Chiefs!

The Varsity Chiefs hosted the Bears of Monroe Jefferson on Friday night for the 2024 Homecoming Game and won by a score of 38-21.  QB Cash Moczydlowsky was 8 for 11 for 62 yards passing, and he had 10 carries for 63 yards and 2 rushing touchdowns.  Austin O’Dell had 14 carries for 86 yards and 2 touchdowns.  Landon Hall had 5 carries for 14 yards and a touchdown.  Brad Hughes had 2 receptions for 17 yards and 2 carries for 7 yards.  Ryan Anderson had 2 receptions for 9 yards and one carry for 2 yards and a 2 point conversion.  Johann Vasquez kicked a 26 yard field goal.  Ryan Marvaso was 3/4 on PAT attempts.  Jake Furkas had a 79 yard kick return.  Cam Grant had 2 kick returns for 18 yards, and he contributed with a 40 yard punt.  Defensively, the Chiefs were led by Drew Ladach (6 tackles, 1 TFL), Ryan Anderson (5 tackles), Nate Matsos (6 tackles, 1 interception), Josh Lisiscki (1 fumble recovery), Cam Grant (3 tackles), Dylan Hudkins (4 tackles), Noah Herron (6 tackles), Austin O’Dell     (3 tackles), Caleb Hall (5 tackles) and Christian Fields (4 tackles).  The Varsity Chiefs (2-3 Overall; 2-2 Huron League) will look to keep momentum as they travel to Carleton Airport this Friday, October 4 to face the Jets.  Game time is 7pm.  Go Chiefs!

The Varsity Huron Chiefs played their first home game of the 2024 season on Friday, September 13 against the Milan Big Reds, and they won in what was a tale of 2 halves.  The Chiefs were down 0-7 at the half, and they came out strong in the 2nd half anchored by strong blocking by Cayden Delaney, Colton Marentette, Brandon Potter, Noah Herron, Garrett Wezner, Hunter Mihal and Drew Ladach.  With the efforts of his offensive line, Austin O’Dell ran all over the Milan defense.  Austin O’Dell had 21 carries for 139 yards and 2 rushing touchdowns.  A.T. Taylor had a 21 yard run for a touchdown.  Jamil Brown had 3 carries for 15 yards and a touchdown. QB Cash Moczydlowski was 3 of 7 passing for 35 yards.  He also had 29 rushing yards.  Ryan Anderson had one reception for 7 yards and 2 carries for 11 yards and a 2 point conversion.  Brad Hughes had 2 receptions for 28 yards. Ryan Marvaso was 3 of 4 on PAT’s. Defensively, the Chiefs saw strong performances from Drew Ladach (9 tackles), Carson Yannick (6 tackles), Nate Matsos (6 tackles), Caleb Hall (fumble recovery) and Austin O’Dell (fumble recovery).  Cam Grant helped the defense by pinning Milan deep with a 42 yard punt.  The Varsity Chiefs (1-2 Overall; 1-1 Huron League) will travel to Riverview for another Huron League game on Friday, September 20th.  Game time is 7pm.  Go Chiefs!
