Huron Chiefs Varsity Defeats Northern HS Detroit Despite Allowing 3-Run Inning
Despite allowing three runs in the fifth inning, Huron Chiefs Varsity defeated Northern HS Detroit 14-5 on Tuesday. Northern HS Detroit's big inning was driven by singles by Jaime and Apolloni and an error on a ball put in play by Reyer.
Huron Chiefs Varsity secured the victory thanks to 12 runs in the first inning. Bethanie Perry, Chelsea Hamilton, Maria Vella, Erin Bressler, Perry, and Anna Atherton each had RBIs in the big inning.
Huron Chiefs Varsity got things moving in the first inning. Huron Chiefs Varsity scored two runs when Perry doubled.
Maddie Campbell was the winning pitcher for Huron Chiefs Varsity. She allowed three hits and two runs over five innings, striking out ten. Zigler and Faith Callahan entered the game out of the bullpen and helped to close out the game in relief.
Jaime took the loss for Northern HS Detroit. She went five innings, allowing 14 runs on ten hits and striking out three.

Maddie Campbell didn't allow a single run as Huron Chiefs Varsity defeated Northern HS Detroit 12-0 on Tuesday. Campbell allowed just one hit.
Erin Bressler led Huron Chiefs Varsity to victory by driving in five runs. She went 2-for-2 at the plate. Bressler drove in runs on a home run in the second and a single in the third.
A single by Feliciano in the third inning was a positive for Northern HS Detroit.
Campbell pitched Huron Chiefs Varsity to victory. She allowed one hit and zero runs over three innings, striking out five.
Apolloni took the loss for Northern HS Detroit. She allowed eight hits and 12 runs over three innings, striking out three.
