Win: 54.00 - 25.00
The freshman Chiefs started the 2022-2023 season with a 29 point win over Wyandotte, 54-25. Defense was the difference in the game. The Chiefs were able to hold Wyandotte to 9 or less points in each quarter. It was a total team effort on the defensive end. Ryan Marvaso, Bryalon Biette, Nate Matsos, Gavin Umin, and Mason Thomas keep the pressure up all game long on the Bears ballhandlers, cause many tip passes and turnovers which lead to easy baskets on the other end. Leading the Chiefs on the offensive end was Ian Petrick, who scored 20 points, while finishing 4 for 4 from the free throw line. Ians non stop motor was also key on defense, he lead the team in steals. Sharp shooter, Braden Munroe connected on 2 shots from downtown and finished with 14 points. Jordan Stasak finished with 10 points on the night but what he did for the team, will never be seen in a scorebook. We were down a couple players becuse of illness and without hesitation, Jordan agreed to play point guard, a position he hasn't practice all season. Jordan showed what it means to be selfless and be a true teammate. Rounding out the scoring for the Chiefs was Broderick Yensh with 4 points. Bryalon Biette, Nate Matsos and Ryan Biller finished with 2 points each. The Chiefs travel to Livonia on Monday to take on the Clarenceville at 4pm.
