League Meet 5/23/23 Huron Boys Track finished tied for third place at the Huron League Meet with 87 points, earning All-League honors in three events. Ryan Morris, Abdul Ghennewa, Samuel Stanley, and Lucas Kuhn earned 1st Team All-League in the 4x800M Relay. Kuhn earned an additional medal as 2nd Team All-Leauge in the 800M Run and Dylan Hudkins hurdled himself to a 2nd Team All-League finish in the 110M hurdles. Huron’s 4x200M relay placed 3rd overall (Anderson, Taylor, Stasak, Petrick). Regional Meet 5/19/23 Huron Boys Track, in a distance stacked region, saw an unprecedented 6 teams qualify in the 4x800M Relay as the Chiefs finished with a time of 8:18.69 clenching a spot at the MHSAA State Finals as an additional qualifier with runners Ryan Morris, Abdul Ghennewa, Samuel Stanley, and Lucas Kuhn. Dylan Hudkins had the top individual finish placing in 5th in the 110M hurdles (16.47 PR), Alton Taylor jumped an additional five inches on his PR to place 6th in the long jump (18’9” PR) and Lucas Kuhn was 7th in the 800M run (2:03.67 PR), all earning Regional medals. Two additional relays earned medals with Ryan Anderson, Abdul Ghennewa, Samuel Stanley, and Lucas Kuhn placing 7th in the 4x400M and Xander Scannell, Alton Taylor, Ryan Anderson, and Sammy Farrugia in 8th for the 4x100M. Metro Classic 5/13/23 The Huron Boys Track team finished 4th overall in the D2/3/4 division at the Metro Classic. Lucas Kuhn was our top finisher, earning Metro Classic runner-up in the 800M ran and the 4x800M Relay with teammates Morris, Ghennewa, and Stanley with a time of 8:21.43, 0.43 seconds off state qualifying time. Kuhn, Ghennewa and Stanley added Ryan Anderson in the 4x400M Relay taking the bronze. In a nine-way tie for third place, Jordan Stasak jumped in on a bronze medal as well. Huron vs Flat Rock/Airport/Grosse Ile @ Huron Quad 5/10/23 Huron Boys Track was home once again in our last regular season competition going head to head in a Quad meet. Scores were pulled out and compared for league standing with Huron overtaking all three of their competitors winning 102 to 26 against Flat Rock, 88 to 40 against Grosse Ile, and 70 to 58 against Airport. The Chiefs placed first overall in seven events, which included: 4x800M Relay (Morris, Ghennewa, Dulecki, Kuhn), 1600M Run (Morris), 4x100M Relay (G Scannell, Taylor, Anderson, Farrugia), 400M Dash (Kuhn), 200M Dash (Anderson), 3200M Run (Dulecki), and Long Jump (Myshock PR). Huroc Relays 5/5/23 2023 Huroc Relay Champions! With Flat Rock’s track under construction, Huron took over hosting their annual event on our home turf where they put in solid performances, leading for most of the competition. The Chiefs ended the night with the Championship trophy earning a total of 90 points. Huron vs SMCC 5/2/23 The Huron Boys Track team iced out the competition, dominating in a frigid meet against SMCC, scoring 102 points to 26. The Chiefs placed first in 13 events, which included sweeps in the 400M Dash (Ghennewa, Stasak, Petrick), 300M Hurdles (Hudkins, Bailey, Cardwell), high jump (L Munroe, Sells, Stasak), and long jump (Myshock, Taylor, Elliott), along with firsts in all relay events. Class of 2023 Seniors were honored at the end of the meet. Warrior Classic 4/22/23 The Huron Boys Track team finished in the top half of the field, placing 7th overall at the Warrior Classic this Saturday. Ryan Morris led the team scoring 16 points, with a first-place championship finish in the 1600M Run (4:39.1 PR), third in the 3200M Run (10:21.3 PR), and a second in the 4x800M Relay (8:26.96 PR) with his teammates Ghennewa, Slane, and Kuhn. Lucas Kuhn, scoring a total of 10 points, also finished in second in the 800M Run, .01 seconds away from first, racing uncontested from heat 3.  Medaling in 6th place for their respective events were Xander Scannell's 100M Dash (11.74) and Abdul Ghennewa's 800M Run (2:11.2). Huron vs Riverview 4/18/23 For the second year in a row, Huron and Riverview battled it out throughout the meet with the lead switching back and forth. Coming into the last event Huron needed the win to end the meet in a tie but fell just short. Final score Huron 59 – Riverview 69. Chelsea Relays 4/12/23 Huron Boys Track traveled to Chelsea for a chance to preview this year’s 2023 Regional track site. The team competed in an all-relay event that featured mixed divisions. The Chiefs’ top relay of the day was in High Jump, the trio Stasak (PR 5’6), L Munroe, and Sells jumped their way to a second-place finish earning medals. Two additional relays medaled in 3rd place which included the DMR (Dulecki, Slane, Kuhn, Morris) and 4x100M (X Scannell, Taylor, Anderson, Farrugia). Long Jump featured PR’s by Noah Myshock (18’2) and Finn Dannenberg (17’0) and Joshua Luciow had a PR in shot put (32’8).
