The Varsity Chiefs came out of the gates strong but ultimately lost to the Riverview Pirates by a score of 49-21. QB Micah Smith was 10/16 passing for 108 yards and 2 touchdowns. He also provided 10 carries for 34 yards and a 2 point conversion. Austin O'Dell had 16 carries for 78 yards and a touchdown. Ryan Anderson had 8 receptions for 56 yards and 2 carries for 15 yards. Blake McCarthy had 1 reception for 33 yards and a touchdown. Jake Handyside had one reception for 19 yards and a touchdown. Andrew Traster was 1/2 on PAT attempts. The defense saw strong efforts from Ryan Anderson and Drew Ladach. Kyle Blankenship had a fumble recovery on a special teams play. The Varsity Chiefs (1-3 Overall; 1-2 Huron League) will look to rebound against the Bears of Monroe Jefferson on Friday, September 22. The game is at Monroe Jefferson High School at 7pm. Go Chiefs!
