The Huron Chiefs traveled to Carleton Airport on Friday, September 23 to take on the Division 4 9th ranked undefeated Jets.  Huron started the scoring as Gavin Moczydlowsky connected with Micah Smith for 59 yards and a TD.  Moczydlowsky ran in the 2 point conversion giving the Chiefs an 8-0 lead.  Airport answered back on the next drive, but they failed on the 2 point attempt making the score 8-6.  Huron struck next on a 45 yard rushing TD by Moczydlowsky.  Anthony Gill kicked the PAT to make it a 15-6 score.  The Chiefs defense started to click at this point, and they were giving the Jets fits.  Airport fumbled on the next drive, and it was recovered by Christian Copley.  Huron was able to capitalize on another strong drive capped off by another rushing touchdown from Moczydlowsky.  Gill kicked the PAT making it 22-6.  On the Jets next drive, Josh Buettner stripped the ball from the quarterback, and he took it 51 yards to the house for another Chiefs touchdown.  This made the score 28-6 at halftime.  The Chiefs defense came out strong again in the 2nd half and caused another fumble that was recovered by Brennan Caldwell.  Huron was able to capitalize yet again as Moczydlowsky connected with Micah Smith for 16 yards and another touchdown.  Gill kicked the PAT making it 35-6.  On Airports next drive, they were pressing under the pressure of the Chiefs defense, and Marco Tylutki was able to intercept a pass giving the Chiefs great field position.  This time Moczydlowski found Rory Callahan on a 32 yard touchdown strike.  Callahan made an exceptional one handed catch and manhandled the defender and he crossed the goal line.  This made the score 41-6 in favor of the Chiefs.  On Airport’s next drive, they coughed up the ball again, and this time it was Ethan Woolery with the fumble recovery.  Huron scored one more time on the evening on a 27 yard rushing touchdown from Christian Copley.  Gill kicked the PAT making it 48-6.  Despite all of the scoring and exciting offensive play, it was the defense that really shined on Friday night.  The energy was incredible, as they provided 9 sacks, 3 fumble recoveries, 1 strip and score and an interception.  Airport’s offense never seemed to get comfortable.  Offensively, Moczydlowski finished the game 8-11 for 190 yards and 3 passing touchdowns.  He also rushed for 61 yards and had 2 rushing touchdowns.  Rory Callahan had 5 receptions for 105 yards and a touchdown.  Micah Smith had 2 receptions for 75 yards and 2 touchdowns and 63 yards rushing.  Christian Copley had 51 rushing yards and a touchdown.  Chad Martin also had a reception.  Defensively, Josh Buettner had 3 sacks and a 51 yard strip and score.  Marco Tylutki had 5 tackles and an interception.  Ethan Woolery had 3 tackles, a sack and a fumble recovery.  Brennan Caldwell had 5 tackles, 2 sacks, a tackle for loss and a fumble recovery.  Rory Callahan had multiple tackles and a sack.  Jesse Brown had a sack.  Micah Smith, Ryan Anderson, Ashton Warren and Sammy Farrugia all had tackles as well.  Farrugia had several pass breakups as well.  The Chiefs (3-2 Overall, 3-1 Huron League) will look to keep their momentum heading into a Week 6 showdown against Grosse Ile for Homecoming.  The game will be held on Friday, September 30 at Arrowhead Stadium at 7pm.  Go Chiefs!
