Many had their views as to why the Chiefs scored a half a dozen goals today. Some say it was the “Presidential Alert” and the end of civilization as we know it, others say it was because of climate change, and yet others believed it was Karma for being so nice to the big reds.  Anyone who knows anything about soccer, though, will concur it was because of new comer Alex Davenport’s birthday! Freshmen Alex Davenport joined the varsity squad today, played just under 50 minutes, hit the crossbar, and assisted Sophomore Ricky Emelian on his 20 yard upper corner rocket, but not before Senior captain Ryan Toth stole the show.  Toth scored the first 3 goals and what stood as the game winner as he played forward, making runs off of Senior captain Vinny Gonzalez who had all 3 assists. Goal #4 was Emelian’s, and #5 was Brendan Robbins from Ricky Emelian.  Goal #6 was junior Sam Hughes, who is on a 2 game scoring streak. Hughes made a 25 yard run and volley to net a well placed direct free kick from senior captain, homecoming king, football kicker, and all academic, Chad Sturgill.  Captain Nick Pasut was really nice in goal today  and walked away with the win.   The Chiefs are now 12-1-2 on the season and face #1 ranked University of Grosse Ile on Monday.
