Aug 21, 2019
Score

JEFFERSON MIDDLE AND HIGH SCHOOL: 0

Varsity: One minute into the 2019 season Senior Captain Salvatore  Marchionda netted his first from Junior Captain Ricky Emelian.  Minutes later, AAA hockey player Jordan Comilla, put down his hockey stick to assist Senior Captain Jacob O’Neal.  Senior Captain Brendan Robbins decided to score 3 in a row to become the 2019 leading goal scorer. His first and second was assisted by Sal with a follow up assist from Senior Matisse.  Jacob O’Neal welcomed Senior Nick Clark II to Huron High School by assisting Nick’s first ever Huron goal. Senior Captain Sam Hughes added 3 points late in the game when he assisted O’Neal’s second of the night and went solo to end the game.  Braden Damiani and Cody Brenner shared goal keeping duties to earn Damiani the shut out.  Sophomores Owen Barnes, Ashton Messina, and Junior Brendan Pasut all tallied their first Varsity game. Owen Barnes and Senior Mackennon Dolencic anchored the backline.  Barnes will be a strong force not only with his strength and speed but also with his knowledge and level of play.  ( Now if we can get him to relay messages to his mom in time so coach doesn’t get yelled at, would be great). Congratulations to Monroe Jefferson for their continual efforts and their complete sportsmanship.  Huron supports the Bears!! ( In Soccer) Varsity will be out of town this weekend as they head north to the Saginaw Heritage Invite.

JV: Nik Crispin went on a terror tonight lighting up JV with 4 goals. Hayden Stanczyk, Tyler Toth and Shane Gill all assisted Crispin.  Tyler Toth scored 3 with assists to Noah Kilmark and Chandler McCraight.  Cody Egler scored 2 with Alec Richardson receiving an assist.  Evan Town, Shane Gill, and  Noah Kilmark scored unassisted goals while Brady Flesar scored 1 and assisted Hayden Stanczyk.  Brendan Pasek, Drew Slay, Carter Bouchard, and Colton Smith, all did strong defensive work to help ensure the victory.  Freshmen Anthony Gill and Jack Miller tried to break down the visitors defense with some amazing footwork and work off of the ball before Miller took to the goalkeeper position.
