Renton CC at the Airport Invite

Renton Cross Country ran their last race of the season at Airport High School over the weekend. The warm, sunny conditions Saturday helped the Chiefs finish off the last race right. Overall, the boys finished in 5th place as a team. Kyle Siggett finished off his 2 mile season with both a win and a personal record running 11:46! Cameron Crane finished in fifth running a 12:14 and also got to take home a medal. Zachary Biller ran a PR in 28th at 13:52, and Max Banas 43rd (14:36 PR) all had a great race. Liam Holdwick 56th (15:13) led a pack of Chiefs followed by Mason Kidd 59th (15:17) and Ethan Brophy 61st (15:20). Henry Broughton and Cael Dodson in 77th & 78th crossed the finish line together, both with personal records at 17:06. Oliver Sherz was a second behind in 79th. John Lapointe 84th (17:56) and Ethan Hajduk 92nd (20:29) ran a solid last race for the Chiefs. The girls side finished in 4th as a team, with two medalists: Kayla Christesen in 15th (14:44) and Cecilia Evans in 17th (14:52). Isa Vargo 21st (15:39), Zoe Cheney 23rd (15:48), and Stella Mac 26th (16:02) were all close behind. Ryan Cheney led the second half of the Chiefs in 39th (17:05) followed by Julia Welch 42nd (17:30), Brooklyn Ladach 45th (17:53 PR), Jennalynn Bronstein 47th (17:59), and Macy Bauman 53rd cutting off over a minute of her previous record (18:10)! Amelia Evans finished in 62nd out of 83 girls running a 19:20. Our 8th grade boys and girls will be running this Saturday, the 29th, at Milan High School in the PROM (Post Regional Open Meet) 5K race. We encourage our 6th & 7th graders to support their teammates running 3.1 miles. Boys run at 12:30pm and girls at 1:10pm. Good luck to our eighth graders & GO CHEIFS!

The Chiefs ran their third and final league meet of the season on Wednesday at Willow MetroPark. All runners gave their full efforts that resulted in strong league finishes. The boys team finished in second place. Kyle Siggett won the race in 11:56, making him the league champion and the winner of all three jamborees. Right behind him was Cameron Crane in 2nd (12:24). Crane finished runner-up in all three jamborees this season. Austin Krause 18th (13:56 PR), Zachary Biller 19th (14:05), George Broughton 20th (14:23 PR), Max Banas 24th (14:46), Liam Holdwick 27th (15:07 PR), Mason Kidd 29th (15:16 PR), Ethan Brophy 30th (15:18 PR), Oliver Scherz 39th (16:27 PR), Henry Broughton 47th (17:22 PR), John Llapointe 51st (17:42), Cael Dodson 55th (17:48 PR), and Ethan Hajduk 65th (20:42) ran hard for the Chiefs. The girls team had a strong performance as well, finishing 3rd as a team. Kayla Christesen (14:23 PR) led the way with an all-league finish of 10th place. Cecilia Evans (14:45) narrowly missed the top 14, with a 15th place finish. Zoey Cheney 18th (15:11 PR), Isa Vargo 23rd (15:16), Stella Mac 24th (15:21 PR), Alice Williams 30th (16:06 PR), Riley Szwara 31st (16:25 PR), Brooklyn Boggs 32nd (16:31), Julia Welch 35th (16:53 PR), Ryan Cheney 36th (16:58), Jennalynn Bronstein 40th (17:29 PR), Brooklyn Ladach 42nd (18:00 PR), Aubrey Turk 50th (19:17 PR), and Macy Bauman 51st (19:19) ran great. With 18 total PRs on Wednesday, Oliver Scherz and Aubrey Turk had the biggest PRs for each team. Oliver took off an impressive 1 minute 33 seconds from his previous PR, and Aubrey took off a notable minute and 22 seconds off her previous PR.

The Chiefs returned to Sterling State Park on Tuesday for Jamboree 2. The boys team finished runner-up to Wagar with 54 points. Kyle Siggett won the race in a personal record time of 11:51, and Cameron Crane finished in 2nd with a time of 12:19. Placing in the top 20 for the Chiefs was Austin Krause (14:08), and Zachary Biller (14:10), finishing in 13th, 15th, and 17th, respectively. Wyatt Senie 24th (14:47), Aiden Hebert-Foe 26th (14:51), Max Banas 27th (15:01), George Broughton 33rd (15:54), Mason Kidd 41st (16:39), Ethan Brophy 42nd (16:43), Henry Broughton 50th (17:55 PR), John Lapointe 51st (17:57), Oliver Sherz 52nd (18:20 PR), Cael Dodson 57th (19:05), Liam Holdwick 62nd (19:38), and Ethan Hajduk 66th (20:08). The girls team finished in 4th place overall, but had a great day with 7 personal records! Kayla Christesen 10th (14:41 PR), Cecilia Evans 13th (14:47 PR), Isa Vargo 15th (14:50 PR), and Stella Mac 23rd (15:34 PR) led the girls team. Brooklyn Boggs finished in 25th (16:03), Alice Williams 29th (16:42 PR), Ryan Cheney 31st (17:30), Riley Szwara 32nd (17:35), Julia Welch 37th (18:09), Jennalyn Bronstein 42nd (18:40 PR), Elizabeth Hebert-Foe 49th (20:20), Macy Bauman 50th (20:19 PR), and Aubrey Turk 54th (21:35).

Renton Cross Country had ideal running conditions over the weekend to allow a great amount of personal records at the Marauder Invitational. The Chiefs ran at Lake Erie Metro Park Saturday afternoon, where they showed off their previous week of hard work.    The boys finished in 8th place out of 15 other teams, with personal records from our top three boys: Kyle Siggett with a top 10 finish in 8th (11:52), Cameron Crane in 18th (12:14), and Austin Krause 73rd (13:58) out of 243 runners. Zachary Biller 75th (13:59), Aidan Hebert-Foe 106th (14:36), Max Banas 111th (14:38 PR), and Wyatt Senie 113th (14:42 PR) followed close behind.    George Broughton 146th (15:30 PR), Liam Holdwick 159th (16:23), Mason Kidd 168 (16:30), John Lapointe 197th (17:50), Henry Broughton 202nd (18:10), and Oliver Sherz 206th (18:31 PR) all ran strong for the Chiefs. Cael Dodson in 210th ran a second shy of a whole 2 minute PR at 18:42!   The girls team are showing huge improvements with personal best times from 12 out of 14 runners! They finished 9th out of 15 other teams, led by a tight pack of three: Kayla Christesen 46th (14:42 PR), Cecilia Evans 51st (15:01 PR), and Isa Vargo 55th (15:06 PR) out of 221 runners. Their teammates followed closely behind all with personal records: Zoe Cheney 68th (15:30), Stella Mac 72nd (15:40), Brooklyn Boggs 86th (15:59), Riley Szawara 118th (17:05), and Ryan Cheney 121st (17:14).   Julia Welch in 125th just missed her PR by seconds, running a 17:24. Jennalynn Bronstein 159th (18:41 PR) had a great day along with Brooklyn Ladach 161st, who cut off well over a minute of her previous record, running 18:48. Elizabeth Hebert-Foe 174th (19:41 PR), Amelia Evans 175th (19:49), and Macy Bauman 182nd (20:25 PR) all ran well for the Chiefs.

Renton Cross Country had a great day on Friday at the Jefferson Invitational. The flat course at Sterling State Park combined with perfect running conditions resulted in lots of personal records for both the boys and girls team. The boy's team finished in 3rd out of 7 teams but were only six points away from placing runner-up. Kyle Siggett led the boys, finishing 2nd overall with a time of 11:59. Cameron Crane finished in 4th place, with a personal record of 12:16. Both Siggett and Crane earned medals for the Chiefs. Zachary Biller 29th (14:02), Austin Krause 33rd (14:12), Aidan Hebert-Foe 34th (14:12), Wyatt Senie 51st (15:08 PR), Liam Holdwick 63rd (15:51 PR), Mason Kidd 67th (16:10 PR), Ethan Brophy 68th (16:16 PR), George Broughton 69th (16:36), John Lapointe 83rd (17:30 PR), Henry Broughton 90th (18:43), Oliver Sherz 93rd (18:59 PR), and Ethan Hajduk 98th (20:02 PR) all ran well for the Chiefs. The girl's team showed great improvements on Friday, with a 4th place team finish. Four girls placed in the top 30, with Kayla Christesen (15:32), Zoey Cheney (15:45 PR), Stella Mac (15:50 PR), and Isa Vargo (16:08), placing 21st, 24th, 25th, and 30th, respectively. Brooklyn Boggs 38th (16:40 PR), Alice Williams 42nd (16:52 PR), Julia Welch 51st (17:18 PR), Riley Szawara 55th (18:02), Ryan Cheney 56th (18:04), Jennalyn Bronstein 66th (19:32 PR), Brooklyn Ladach 71st (20:07), Elizabeth Hebert-Foe 77th (20:36 PR), Macy Bauman 79th (20:37), and Aubrey Turk 81st (20:39 PR) had notable performances for the Chiefs.

Renton Cross Country had their first Huron League Jamboree meet Tuesday hosted by Milan. The boys finished in 1st place as a team, led by Kyle Siggett (12:17) and Cameron Crane (12:33) pacing the field with 1 & 2 finishes. Following close behind, Zachary Biller in 10th (13:58), Aidan Hebert-Foe in 11th (14:01), and Austin Krause in 13th (14:11) all ran their personal best times. Wyatt Senie 25th and George Broughton 27th also had a big day for the Chiefs, running PRs of 15:40 and 15:52. Mason Kidd 34th (16:44), Ethan Brophy 36th (16:50), Liam Holdwick 37th (17:28), Henry Broughton 40th (18:03 PR), John Lapointe 42nd (18:09 PR), and Ethan Hajduk 58th (21:56 PR) all ran strong for the chiefs. The girls team placed 4th in the league with tight finishes led by Isa Vargo in 18th running 15:56 and Kayla Christesen 20th running 16:04. Their teammates followed closely behind all with personal records: Cecilia Evans 22nd (16:10), Stella Mac 24th (16:27), Brooklyn Boggs 25th (17:04), Zoey Cheney 27th (17:07), Alice Williams 28th (17:08), and Riley Szawara 29th (17:20). Ryan Cheney 35th (17:59), Julia Welch 36th (18:08), and Amelia Evans 42nd (19:21), Jennalyn Bronstein 43rd (19:23 PR), Macy Bauman 47th (20:25), Elizabeth Hebert-Foe 58th (22:18 PR), and Aubrey Turk 59th (22:49) all ran well for the Chiefs.

Renton Cross Country had their season opener this past Saturday at the 53rd Annual Huron Invite. The boys team finished in 10th place in the 3,200 meters varsity race, led by medalists Kyle Siggett and Cameron Crane. Siggett finished in 9th place out of 178 runners, with a big PR of 11:53, and Crane finished in 21st, with a PR of 12:24. Austin Krause (86th), Aidan Hebert-Foe (93rd), and Ethan Brophy (141st) also had a big day for the Chiefs, running PRs of 14:18, 14:26, and 16:22, respectively.  Zachary Biller finished 120th (15:21), Max Banas 129th (15:42), George Broughton 134th (16:00), Wyatt Senie 137th (16:08) and Mason Kidd 140th (16:21). In the JV race, Liam Holdwich finished in 56th (19:41), John Lapointe 61st (20:28), Oliver Sherz 62nd (20:28), Cael Dodson 64th (20:41) and Ethan Hajduk 73rd (23:02) out of 90 runners. Strong efforts came from the girls team, with a 14th place finish in the 3,200 meters varsity race. Kayla Christesen led the Lady Chiefs, coming in 55th out of 176 runners, with a time of 15:24. Cecilia Evans 79th (16:18), Stella Mac 104th (17:14), Riley Szawara 107th (17:21), Zoey Cheney 109th (17:25), Alice Williams 121st (18:00), Brooklyn Boggs 123rd (18:08), Julia Welch 130th (18:28), Ryan Cheney 135th (18:51), and Amelia Evans 138th (19:02) ran well for the Chiefs. In the JV race, Jennalyn Bronstein finished in 37th (19:57), Brooklyn Ladach 39th (20:18), Aubry Turk 48th (21:35), and Elizabeth Hebert-Foe 63rd (23:48) out of 87 runners.
