Jefferson Invitational/Huron Middle School League Meet 5/24/18

The Renton Jr High Boys Track Team narrowly missed a trophy at the Jefferson Invitation by 8 points, finishing in 3^rd place behind Seitz and Jefferson. The boys with a score of 116.33 points brought home 2 individual 1^st place medals, 15 individual ribbons and all four relays earned ribbons. Their 800M relay team once again lowered their school record with a time of 1:47.2. Alex Smith also improved his 200M hurdle record to 28.72 and Gabe Anthony in the long jump improved his record to 18’6”. Miles Fichtner, who previously shared the record in the 55M hurdles, dropped his time to 9.1 and solely claims the new record.

The Renton Jr High Girls Track Team are the 2018 Jefferson Invitational/Huron Middle School League Champions! The ladies finished in first place with 201 points out scored their closest opponent by 82 points and brought home 6 individual 1^st place medals, 16 individual ribbons and all four relays placed first earning medals. Three of their relays improved on their school record times: 800M relay 1:55.72, 3200M relay 11:17.36 and 1600M relay 4:33.23. Natalie Marek also improved her 400M dash record to 1:04.34 and Amelia Campbell broke the school record in the 800M dash with a time of 2:34.57.
