Renton Softball 8th Grade Defeats Wagar Junior HS In High-Scoring Affair

Both thr Renton and Wagar Junior HS had their offenses going on Thursday, but Renton eventually prevailed 19-12.

Renton got things going in the first inning. Wagar Junior HS evened things up at one in the bottom of the first. Renton pulled away for good with two runs in the second inning when Paige Bruning singled on a 1-2 count, scoring one run and Taylor Mitter grounded out, scoring one run.

The Chiefs notched nine runs in the third inning. Renton's offense in the inning was led by Selah Stanley, Brielle Musallam, Addison Ramsby, Rylie Greggo, Jaylen Kemble, and Brooke Zaborowski, all driving in runs in the frame.

Musallam got the start for Renton Junior High Chiefs Softball 8th Grade. The pitcher lasted three innings, allowing seven hits and six runs while striking out six and walking zero. Taylor Mitter threw one inning out of the bullpen, striking out 2.

Renton Junior High Chiefs Softball 8th Grade tallied 18 hits on the day. Musallam, Ramsby, Bruning, Kemble, Greggo, Zaborowski, and Ellen Town each had multiple hits for the Chiefs. Bruning led the team with three stolen bases, as they ran wild on the base paths with 14 stolen bases.
