WAGAR JUNIOR HIGH SCHOOL: 7
The Chiefs took the lead late in the game in a 9-7 victory over Wager on Tuesday, May 15th. The game was tied at seven with Renton batting in the top of the fourth when Leena Shrum earned 2 RBI's on a sacrifice hit to give the Chiefs the lead.
The base paths were crowded in this high-scoring game. The Renton Chiefs collected 13 hits and Wagar had eight. The Chiefs got things started on the first pitch of the game when Aleighna Johnson tripled to right field. Then on a 2-1 count, Michaela DiMambro doubled to drive in Johnson to get the scoring started.
DiMambro toed the rubber for the Chiefs. SHe surrendered five runs on four hits over two innings, striking out six. Audrey Johns came in relief to lock down the victory.
The Renton Chiefs tallied 13 hits on the day. Rachel Fulifant, Emily Milam and Aria Galloway each managed two hits to lead the Chiefs.
