Katie Delivers Four Hits To Huron Softball JV Victory Over Airport

Katie gave Airport fits, as she bagged four hits in Huron Softball JV's 19-6 victory on Wednesday. Katie tripled in the first, doubled in the third, singled in the fourth, and singled in the fifth. Airport scored six runs in the second inning, but Huron Softball JV still managed to pull out the victory. The big inning for Airport came thanks to walks by P Bucki, M Bucki, and Lagace, a single by Nowland, and a double by Weinman. Huron Softball JV got on the board in the first inning when an error scored one run for Huron Softball JV. Huron Softball JV took the lead for good with five runs in the third inning. In the third Autumn singled on a 3-0 count, scoring one run, Aria singled on a 3-2 count, scoring one run, Ellyse doubled on a 0-2 count, scoring two runs, and Katie doubled on a 1-0 count, scoring one run. Huron Softball JV notched seven runs in the fourth inning. Autumn, Aria, Logan, Gracie, Katie, and Emily Milam all contributed in the big inning with RBIs. Audrey led things off in the pitcher's circle for Huron Softball JV. She went one and one-third innings, allowing six runs on four hits and striking out two. Taylor led things off in the circle for Airport. She went three and a third innings, allowing 16 runs on 18 hits and striking out four. Bucki threw one and two-thirds innings out of the bullpen. Huron Softball JV totaled 22 hits. Milam, Katie, Aria, Autumn, Ellyse, and Lena all managed multiple hits for Huron Softball JV. Katie and Milam each collected four hits to lead Huron Softball JV. Huron Softball JV was sure-handed in the field and didn't commit a single error. Katie had the most chances in the field with nine. Huron Softball JV tore up the base paths, as three players stole at least two bases. Katie led the way with five. Cousino went 3-for-3 at the plate to lead Airport in hits.
