Huron Chiefs JV snatched the lead late in the game in a 19-18 victory over Flat Rock on Wednesday. The game was tied at 18 with Huron Chiefs JV batting in the top of the eighth when G Majerle induced Lauren Dioszegi to hit into a fielder's choice, but one run scored.

Both pitching staffs had their hands full, frequently dealing with runners on base. Huron Chiefs JV collected 18 hits and Flat Rock had 13.

Flat Rock got things moving in the first inning. Majerle drove in two when she singled.

After Huron Chiefs JV scored five runs in the top of the sixth, Flat Rock answered with five of their own. Huron Chiefs JV scored when Gracie Bowman grounded out, scoring one run, Sydney Ziegler drew a walk, scoring one run, Emily Egler doubled on a 1-0 count, scoring one run, Dioszegi tripled on a 1-0 count, scoring one run, and Autumn Setser singled on a 1-0 count, scoring one run. Flat Rock then answered when A Cotter singled on a 1-0 count, scoring one run, A Engelbert grounded out, scoring one run, A Inch singled on the first pitch of the at bat, scoring one run, and J Hammer singled on the first pitch of the at bat, scoring two runs.

Huron Chiefs JV scored eight runs in the seventh inning. Bowman, Ziegler, Dioszegi, Setser, Ellyse Town, and Gabby Howarth each had RBIs in the frame.

Ziegler was credited with the victory for Huron Chiefs JV. She surrendered seven runs on five hits over three innings, striking out one and walking one. Setser threw one-third of an inning in relief out of the bullpen.

A Kmoiotek started the game for Flat Rock. She lasted five and two-thirds innings, allowing seven hits and ten runs while striking out three. Majerle threw two and a third innings in relief.

Leah Stacey started the game for Huron Chiefs JV. She surrendered nine runs on eight hits over four and two-thirds innings, striking out three

Huron Chiefs JV smacked one home run on the day. Setser had a dinger in the seventh inning.

Flat Rock collected 13 hits on the day. Cotter, Inch, Hammer, Majerle, and S Voran each racked up multiple hits for Flat Rock. Flat Rock tore up the base paths, as two players stole at least two bases. Voran led the way with four.
