Early Lead For Riverview Seals Fate For Huron Chiefs JV

Huron Chiefs JV fell behind early and couldn't come back in a 15-9 loss to Riverview on Wednesday. Riverview scored on a single by Miller and a double by Riley in the first inning.

Despite the loss, Huron Chiefs JV did collect seven hits in the high-scoring affair. Unfortunately, Riverview had 13 hits on the way to victory.

Riverview got on the board in the first inning. Riverview scored one run when Miller singled.

Huron Chiefs JV tallied five runs in the seventh inning. Logan Martin, Lauren Dioszegi, and Anna Atherton each had RBIs in the frame.

Riverview scored four runs in the seventh inning. Cavazos, Ruffner, and Lipinski each had RBIs in the big inning.

Ruffner was on the mound for Riverview. She lasted seven innings, allowing seven hits and nine runs while striking out nine and walking zero.

Leah Stacey toed the rubber for Huron Chiefs JV. She surrendered six runs on seven hits over three and two-thirds innings, striking out two and walking zero. Autumn Setser threw three and a third innings in relief out of the bullpen.

Riverview launched two home runs on the day. Lipinski had a dinger in the sixth inning. Cavazos put one out in the fourth inning.

Atherton went 2-for-4 at the plate to lead Huron Chiefs JV in hits.

Riverview had 13 hits in the game. Cavazos, Tyler, Lipinski, Ruffner, and Riley all managed multiple hits for Riverview. Cavazos led Riverview with three hits in four at bats.
