Huron Chiefs JV Loses Lead Early In Defeat

Huron Chiefs JV watched the game slip away early and couldn't recover in a 9-5 loss to Riverview on Wednesday. Riverview scored on a single by Labodie, a single by Ruffner, a groundout by Barns, and a single by Lipinski in the first inning.

Riverview fired up the offense in the first inning, when Labodie singled on the first pitch of the at bat, scoring one run.

Huron Chiefs JV put up three runs in the sixth inning. Lauren had an RBI stolen base in the inning to lead the run scoring.

Riverview scored five runs in the fourth inning. Ruffner, Barns, and Lipinski each had RBIs in the big inning.

Ruffner pitched Riverview to victory. She allowed six hits and four runs over six and two-thirds innings, striking out nine and walking one.

Leah took the loss for Huron Chiefs JV. She allowed 14 hits and nine runs over six innings, striking out two and walking one.

Huron Chiefs JV tallied ten hits in the game. Emily, Katie, Chloe, Sydney, and Anna all collected multiple hits for Huron Chiefs JV. Anna, Sydney, Chloe, Katie, and Emily all had two hits to lead Huron Chiefs JV.

Riverview tallied 14 hits on the day. Labodie, Lipinski, Ruffner, Miller, and Riley each collected multiple hits for Riverview. Labodie led Riverview with three hits in four at bats. Riverview didn't commit a single error in the field. Tyler had the most chances in the field with nine.
