JV high school soccer traveled out to Ann Arbor to battle for the last game of the year. Faith Trombly held down the keeper spot and secured the shutout while Sophia Plooy and Sarah Stewart each had their best game. With only one sub, the Chiefs made the best of their time capitalizing on a Shaylyn Carpenter corner kick. Addison Dolencic, who is generally known for her supreme defending, headed in the corner kick and the only goal of the game. Molly Johnston who anchored this team all season also had another amazing game. Hannah Purcell fought hard in multiple positions and tried to get in on some of the attack. Keely Bennett and Sloane Moutos both worked the outsides and were each able to get off a couple of shots. Addison Bozynski was needed a bit everywhere and made the game exciting when she was near the ball. Riley Humeniak and Danica Lividini tried to chase balls down and beat defenders to attempt to generate offense.
“There were a lot of ups and downs this season. Goals scored, games won and games lost. Friendships made and memories that will last a lifetime. You each gave me 100% and were a fun group to work with! To you freshmen: Your High school soccer journey only has 3 more quarters, use them wisely! To you sophomores: you are already halfway there, it goes too fast. The crazy thing is, this exact team will never play together again, ever. Some will move on, some will stay, some will lose interest with the sport, some will pick another sport. No matter what the future holds and the path you take, nothing can erase your stamp on both Huron High School Girls Soccer and me. Thank you all!”
