DIVINE CHILD: 2
Divine Child has a beautiful Soccer Stadium and their teams don't usually loose there. That was until the Chiefs showed up. As soon as the Chiefs arrived by charter bus, it was as if rockstars had arrived and everyone took notice. They stepped off the bus one by one to screaming fans and "We Love Chiefs" posters. Dodging all the hype and media the Chiefs made their way to the pitch and went to work. Molly Johnston and Hannah Purcell anchored the centerback positions as Kendyl Sikorski and Ava Plackowski took care of the middle. Gabby Emelian went on a couple of terrors down the right side beating her defenders then centering to Addison Bozinski 2x. That was 2 trips down, 2 crosses, 2 assists Gabby and 2 goals Bozynski. Outside back Addison Dolencic put on her rockstar performance throughout the evening, stopping forwards and attacking with confidence. Sarah Stewart and Sophia Plooy took care of the outside back positions to keep the fans screaming with joy. Emelian converted her pk attempt after she was attacked inside the 18 yard box just before Divine Child got a divine intervention on some random long chip shot that beat our closed eyed, backup to our backup, backup keeper. Halftime had the Chiefs up 3-1 and after a few signed autographs the stars went back to work. Sloane Moutos, Keely Bennett and Danica Lividini all battled hard to convert turnovers and generate some attack. Shaylyn Carpenter joined the attack in the 2nd half to add some spice and take some pressure off of Emelian who snuck through for one more goal advancing the score to 4-1. Divine Child added one more as a turf monster snagged up the anonymous Chief's keeper and the ball got passed into the open net. Final score was 4-2 and the irony of the whole game was that our two wonderful keepers were both home, under the weather, watching the game on facetime. Just like that the Chiefs boarded their coach and road off into the sunset.
