TRENTON HIGH SCHOOL: 0
The Huron girls dominated from opening minute until the final minute. 70 minutes of relentless in your face soccer with a great mix of passing, dribbling, and movement was what the crowd received for their price of admission. Huron held possession 96% of the time and goalkeeper Shayla Mcmanaman never saw action. Huron rarely lost control of field position and kept their defense at half or higher. A scoring clinic was not what the Chiefs brought though, unfortunately. Shots were flying all over the place and the Trenton goalkeeper had an exceptional performance. Alexa Yoder sliced through a group of Trojans and beat the keeper with her shot before McKenna Darin assured the ball over the line for the lone goal of the match. 1 goal, 70 minutes of soccer, 96% of Huron possession, and non-stop shots, sometimes things just don’t add up. Alivia Davis, Grace Traster, Chloe Evans, Noelle Myshock, Madison Deluca, Lily Hickman, and Courtney Balazs all worked tirelessly. Megan Scott tried to get Huron on the board multiple times with shots from distance that didn’t quite find their mark. “This was fun to watch but isn’t the objective to kick the ball into that goal thingy with the big net tied to it” remarked a bearded man that leaned his bike against the east fence, when questioned what he thought.
Huron is at Bedford Saturday 10:00am and again at 11:00am against both Bedford and Lincoln before heading back to Arrowhead for another match against Trenton on Tuesday. Then it’s all over folks.
