BEDFORD SENIOR HIGH SCHOOL: 1
As the undefeated Huron Chiefs stepped off of their tour bus to the roaring thunderous cheers from screaming fans, a feeling of suspense and anticipation was in the air. After signing autographs and kissing babies and shaking hands it was time to get to some soccer. Huron scored quickly when Alexa Yoder netted a 20 yard blast that let the visiting Bedford know this was going to be serious. Chloe Evans scored next from Alivia Davis then minutes later was awarded a penalty shot from the spot that Lily Hickman converted. Hickman then assisted Alivia Davis before Chloe Evans added goals #5&6. Donna Roberts scored twice but one was called back leaving Roberts extremely flustered. Alivia Davis sliced her way through a crowd of Bedfordites to expand the score to 8. Madison Deluca ripped the netting with a shot to finalize the Chief’s scoring at 9. Somewhere along the way, Shayla Mcmanaman was asked to play as a last defender and take off her goalie gloves leaving the Huron goal vacated. A well placed chip shot from distance created a goal for Bedford and made for an exciting time for both Bedford fans and Huron paparazzi. 9-1 was the exciting final and after all the confetti had dropped the Huron superstars were back on their bus and gone as quickly as they had arrived. Grace Traster anchored the back line throughout and was credited with selfless play. Marianna Gonzalez, Mikayla Knott, and Ashley Kamensky were also credited with exceptional play.
Remember, Huron vs Grosse Ile Monday night at Grosse Ile.
