With wind gusts of 100 km/h you would've thought Dorothy and Toto were in Arrowhead but instead the Riverview Pirates girls JV soccer team had followed a yellow lined road to battle are Huron girls. Team captain Hannah Randles and sophomore goal scorer Donna Roberts amazed our wind blown guests while defending against the gusts along with Junior Ashley Kamensky and Mamoona Chaudhry. Captain Mikayla Knott and dear friend Jordan Bycofski worked endlessly with freshman Emma Bobic, freshman Molly Hall, and sophomore Noelle Myshock to fight the winds and control the middle. After the game delay of trying to remove a woman's wig that blew around the field taunting our players like a wild animal, the Chiefs got back to business with freshmen Kiara Rosales and freshman speedster Courtney Balazs trying to score. The Pirates were able to score only one goal against the amazing defending Chiefs which stood to be the only goal scored. Sophomore Shayla Mcmanaman was credited with multiple saves and having the best looking gloves in the league.
