GROSSE ILE HIGH SCHOOL: 28
The Chiefs pulled off a big win over the previously undefeated Grosse Ile Red Devils Thursday evening with a final score of 31 to 28. The Chiefs defense was solid throughout all four quarters, creating turnovers and hitting the boards. Freshman guard Gabbi Emelian led the Chiefs with eleven points. Sophomore forward Maggie Warden had five points, while also sophomores Hannah Purcell and Madeline Singer had four points a piece. Freshman Forward Addison Bozynski had a key three pointer late in the fourth, while Rylie Cassette, Emma James, and Callie Eaton all got a bucket to fall before the final buzzer. The Chiefs are really starting to play as a team, understanding what needs to be done to win ball games! The Chiefs are looking forward to their next match up with Monroe Jefferson.
