Huron Competitive Cheer competes in League Championship

Game Date
Feb 8, 2022

In competitive cheerleading, sometimes scores don't tell the whole story. They don't always reflect the hard work that is put into building routines and perfecting them. Often times, while a routine can improve, scores don't always improve.  There are a number of reasons for this, different judges and different locations to name a few.  In a perfect world, everyone would judge identically and it would always be black and white, but it's not. One thing I do know, is that judging is a tough job, and I'm thankful that there are still officials out there to do it.

The Huron League Championship at Grosse Ile was spectacular. All 6 teams are incredibly strong and knocked it out of the park. The ladies from Huron took the floor with confidence and gave three performances that shook the stands and had the fans going wild. All three rounds impressed and the girls came off the mat proud of how their hard work paid off.

Celebrating our Senior Cheerleaders and handing out the Huron League awards were the perfect bookends to such an exciting meet. Senior cheerleaders for Huron are Lilah Hale, Savana Ruffner, Serena Sarkissian, and Kelly VanSparrentak. We are so proud of these 4 girls; their dedication to this team and this sport are unmatched. We will miss them so much, but cannot wait to see what's next for them.

Huron League Awards were handed out to Kelly VanSparrentak earning Honorable Mention, Lilah Hale earning Second Team All League, and Serena Sarkissian earning First Team All League.

Round 1 - 207.1

Round 2 - 190.94

Round 3 - 271.2

TOTAL: 669.24
