The Huron/Flat Rock/Taylor girls swam their first meet of the season tonight in a tri-meet at the Grosse Ile Country Club with Dearborn Divine Child. Huron lost to Grosse Ile 37-133 and also to DDivine Child 53-116.

Despite the double loss, the girls swam very respectfully for a young team and first meet of the season. Highlights from the meet included Elizabeth Wadsworth in a 3rd place finish in the 50 freestyle  and a 4th place finish in the 100 backstroke, Emily Saksewski with a 5th place finish in the 50 freestyle, and Hannah Krebs with a 5th place finish in the 100 freestyle.

Several girls completed events they never swam before including Sarah Helms and Sara Mzoughi in the 200 IM, Jil Sypula, Rae Shick and Alex Perez in the 100 butterfly, Bella White in the 500 freestyle and Sara Graves in the 100 backstroke. Overall, the girls swam very well tonight. We look forward to our SMISL Relay meet on Saturday in Dundee.
