Maria Robbins’s Big Day Propels Huron Varsity Chiefs Past Grosse Ile Varsity Red Devils

Maria Robbins collected three hits in three at bats, as Huron Varsity Chiefs defeated Grosse Ile Varsity Red Devils 19-4 on Monday. Robbins hit a home run to center field in the fourth inning, singled in the third inning, and singled in the first inning.
Huron Varsity Chiefs got on the board in the bottom of the first inning after Katie Antosiewicz induced Corrine Gietzen to hit into a fielder's choice, but two runs scored, Addison Ramsby singled, scoring one run, and Makynze O’Dell grounded out, scoring one run.
Huron Varsity Chiefs added to their early lead in the bottom of the second inning after Rihanna Sartin singled, Robbins walked, Gietzen singled to center field, and Grosse Ile Varsity Red Devils committed an error, each scoring one run.
Huron Varsity Chiefs added to their early lead in the bottom of the third inning after Madison Kuzara doubled down the left field line, Robbins singled to center field, and Rylie Greggo singled to center field, each scoring one run.
