Super happy to see the girls bounce back after such a hard loss on Tuesday! We had a bit of a chip on our shoulder, nice to see the kids firing back on all cylinders in the batters box. Many kids stepped up, took counts deep, and connected on two strikes. On top of some huge timely hits. SMCC made a little bit a run in the third and fourth inning- but we stepped back in the box and earned back what we gave up. The difference in 48 hours, stopping the bleeding and keeping pressure on the opponent verse sitting back and not finishing. Super proud of the kids. 

Marissa Jackson came the ballpark and meant business on Thursday, driving in five on three hits to lead Huron Varsity Chiefs past SMCC Kestrels Softball 14-4 on Thursday.  Jackson drove in runs on a single in the first, a triple in the second, a in the fifth, and a single in the seventh.

Huron Varsity Chiefs got things started in the first inning.  Erin Newman drew a walk, scoring one run.

Rylie Greggo was in the circle for Huron Varsity Chiefs. The pitcher surrendered four runs on five hits over seven innings, striking out 11.

Huron Varsity Chiefs racked up 17 hits.  Ava Ryan, Jackson, Newman, Emma Sic, and Sierra Diegel all had multiple hits for Huron Varsity Chiefs.  Jackson and Ryan each managed three hits to lead Huron Varsity Chiefs. Brooke Spears had a huge pinch hit, as she sent a ball deep to center field that hit at the base of the fence.
