MILAN HIGH SCHOOL: 3
What a whirlwind of a day! We have been so focused and the the past two weeks on the game at hand. Never looking ahead, never really preparing for anything except the game in front of us. We did not want to get over confident, in fact, the loss to Riverview might have been the loss we needed. It pushed us into a "fearless" mentality each game and we have changed our approach to many things since then. We had to get through last week resting Brinkerhoff, we had incredible pitching from Newman and Jackson. We did everything we had to do to put ourselves in this position tonight. Our nerves were there, our excitement was there, we felt everything about this moment. A first ever league title is a big deal and the kids wanted to be a part of it. We've talked about culture- and what makes program a PROGRAM. Consistently being a threat has been a great start, and I feel like we have been that every year. But to build this culture, we need the banners. Past teams have put this moment into motion, and this group of kids finished something we have wanted since I came back to coach here. First every HURON LEAGUE CHAMPS 2021!!!
