Despite some coaching hiccups- my kids rose to the occasion and stepped up in some true adverse moments. They had my back and played through some sticky innings. Despite bouncing around defensively, and letting in a couple runs via out of position defenders, they locked it down when it counted. Gracie came in to seal the deal the for the last 6 outs of the game. But they avoided disaster and came together to play. One step closer to our league season goal. 

• Huron Chiefs Varsity Sets The Stage For Victory With Early Lead Over Grosse Ile
• Huron Chiefs Varsity jumped out to an early lead over Grosse Ile and took home a 7-3 victory on Monday.  Huron Chiefs Varsity scored on a single by Erin Newman in the first inning, a double by Caroline Polites in the first inning, a error in the second inning, and a single by Polites in the second inning.
• Marissa Jackson was the winning pitcher for Huron Chiefs Varsity. The southpaw surrendered three runs on five hits over four innings, striking out one.  Gracie Brinkerhoff and Newman entered the game out of the bullpen and helped to close out the game in relief.
• #5 took the loss for Grosse Ile. The pitcher surrendered seven runs on 12 hits over six innings, striking out one and walking one.
• Huron Chiefs Varsity saw the ball well today, racking up 12 hits in the game.  Polites, Jackson, Newman, and Emma Sic each had multiple hits for Huron Chiefs Varsity.  Politeswent 3-for-4 at the plate to lead Huron Chiefs Varsity in hits.
• #10 led Grosse Ile with two hits in three at bats.
