Late Game Comback Leads Huron Past Riverview

Huron Chiefs Varsity Grabs Lead In Fourth Inning For Victory Over Riverview
Huron Chiefs Varsity snatched the lead late in the game in a 7-3 victory over Riverview on Saturday. The game was tied at three with Huron Chiefs Varsity batting in the top of the fourth when #12 induced Caroline Polites to hit into a fielder's choice, but one run scored.
Riverview scored three runs in the first inning, but Huron Chiefs Varsity still managed to pull out the victory. The big inning for Riverview came thanks to a triple by Wineke and a sacrifice fly by Poe.
Huron Chiefs Varsity got things moving in the first inning. Emma Sic grounded out, scoring one run.
In the top of the third inning, Huron Chiefs Varsity tied things up at three when an error scored two runs for Huron Chiefs Varsity.
Marissa Jackson took the win for Huron Chiefs Varsity. The lefthander surrendered three runs on three hits over three innings, striking out two and walking one. Erin Newman threw two innings in relief out of the bullpen.
#12 took the loss for Riverview. undefined went four innings, allowing six runs on seven hits, striking out one and walking one.
Huron Chiefs Varsity racked up eight hits on the day. Alexis Thomas and Gracie Brinkerhoffall managed multiple hits for Huron Chiefs Varsity. Brinkerhoff and Thomas each collected two hits to lead Huron Chiefs Varsity.
Jankowski went 2-for-2 at the plate to lead Riverview in hits.
