Not our best work today. Felt like we came in focused and ready, but in the box we our lack of discipline on the day really killed us. We have not fetched too far out of the strike zone until today, and we put some really easy hit balls in play. That is not like us. I felt defensively we didn't make any errors, their hit's just had eyeballs and found the green. A couple of their hits were just bat on ball hits- going with the pitch style. Sometimes that happens, balls find the gaps. Brinkerhoff threw the best game of the year I think, 11K's, she kept them off balance most of the time. Except for a couple swings, she dominated. 

 We'll find out what this team is really made of over the next two weeks. We will either respond and come out to win, or play not to lose. Should be some fun games ahead and I think our girls are up for the challenge of bouncing back.

• Late Score Costs Huron Chiefs Varsity Against Riverview
• Huron Chiefs Varsity lost the lead late in a 6-3 defeat to Riverview on Wednesday. The game was tied at two with Riverview batting in the bottom of the sixth when Poe singled on the first pitch of the at bat, scoring two runs.
• Huron Chiefs Varsity lost despite out-hitting Riverview seven to five.
• Devereaux earned the victory on the rubber for Riverview. The fireballer lasted seven innings, allowing seven hits and three runs while striking out five.
• Gracie Brinkerhoff took the loss for Huron Chiefs Varsity. The pitcher surrendered six runs on five hits over six innings, striking out 11.
• Huron Chiefs Varsity racked up seven hits.  Erin Newman and Katie Kosykowski all managed multiple hits for Huron Chiefs Varsity.  Kosykowski and Newman each collected two hits to lead Huron Chiefs Varsity.
• Poe went 2-for-3 at the plate to lead Riverview in hits.
