Definitely not our best showing. Jackson took to the mound and pitched a great game but the defense did not do their job and provide the support needed. Errors on the backside of the ball really hurt us early. We allowed too many extra outs for Bedford and gave them opportunity after opportunity to push more runs across the board; which they took advantage of. Base running also hurt us as we ran ourselves out of 2 innings in an already shortened 5 inning game. One of those games that lack of discipline becomes your opponents strength and we really gave this one away. But we will learn and bounce back, nothing to hold on too tightly to.

• Bedford Captures Lead Early To Defeat Huron Chiefs Varsity
• Huron Chiefs Varsity watched the game slip away early and couldn't recover in a 5-1 loss to Bedford on Friday. Bedford scored on a double by Dunlap and a single by J Vogel in the first inning.
• In the first inning, Bedford got their offense started.  Dunlap drove in one when Dunlapdoubled.
• Bedford scored three runs in the third inning. Bedford offense in the inning was led by Vogel, Nenegar, and Delagrange, all sending runners across the plate with RBIs in the inning.
• Vogel got the start for Bedford. The bulldog went four and two-thirds innings, allowing one run on one hit and striking out one.
• Marissa Jackson led things off in the circle for Huron Chiefs Varsity. The southpaw surrendered five runs on eight hits over four and a third innings.  Gracie Brinkerhoff threw two-thirds of an inning in relief out of the bullpen.
• Lauren Dioszegi and Katie Kosykowski each collected one hit to lead Huron Chiefs Varsity.
• Bedford saw the ball well today, racking up nine hits in the game.  Vogel, Chapple, and Dunlap each racked up multiple hits for Bedford.
