Extremely happy with the overall team performance today. Our two strike approach and ability to put the ball in play with runners on base, is something that we continue to build big wins on. We are taking advantage of our at bats; something that previous regimes struggled with. Being a hard out and battling deep into counts keeps you in ball games, and currently it is what is winning them for us. We had a couple really nice defensive plays. Snapping some rallies early. Early in the first inning we had a strikeout- throw out on a steal, for a inning ending double play. That was followed up a couple innings later as Lexi Thomas snapped off a line shot in the 3-4 hole.Lexi was able to double up the runner on first, leaving just the runner on second. THe next play was a bomb to RC that only scored one, instead of possibly 2-3 prior to that play. You make plays like that, you kill momentum and keep and protect your lead. Gracie pitched another great game striking out 8. #KUMANDRA

• Huron Chiefs Varsity coasted to an easy victory over saint mary catholic central 10-2 on Wednesday
• Huron Chiefs Varsity got things started in the first inning.  Erin Newman grounded out, scoring one run.
• Huron Chiefs Varsity put up three runs in the fourth inning.  Huron Chiefs Varsity batters contributing to the big inning included Madison Miles, Emma Sic, and Newman, all sending runners across the plate with RBIs in the inning.
• Gracie Brinkerhoff got the win for Huron Chiefs Varsity. The righthander lasted seven innings, allowing seven hits and two runs while striking out eight and walking one.
• B Chinavare took the loss for saint mary catholic central. The hurler allowed two hits and three runs over two innings, striking out two.
• Huron Chiefs Varsity hit one home run on the day. Caroline Polites had a long ball in the fifth inning.
• Huron Chiefs Varsity collected nine hits.  Polites, Newman, and Sic all managed multiple hits for Huron Chiefs Varsity.  Sic, Newman, and Polites all had two hits to lead Huron Chiefs Varsity.
