Kids again proved themselves, taking a lead early and never giving it back. Our goal has been to stay consistent in the box and they just keep putting pressure on the defense inning to inning. You add this to a strong pitching performance from Jackson, gaining her first win, and you have another solid game by the Lady Chiefs. Jackson had a much improved second performance- working ahead and attacking the zone. The defense made some HUGE plays behind her, including a big out at home as Dioszegi made a perfect throw to her cut, Miles, who then gunned the girl out at home and robbing her of an inside the park home run. That was a rally buster right there. A big turning point for the game. I was happy the girls didnt let up game two. They are really fighting to put their name on the map right now. It is a lot of fun to be a part of this special group. 

• 5-Hit Day For Newman Leads Huron Chiefs Varsity Past Clinton
• Erin Newman got busy on the base paths on Friday, knocking five hits in Huron Chiefs Varsity's 12-6 victory over Clinton.  Newman doubled in the first, singled in the second, singled in the fourth, doubled in the fifth, and doubled in the seventh.
• Huron Chiefs Varsity collected 15 hits and Clinton had 13 in the high-scoring affair.
• In the first inning, Huron Chiefs Varsity got their offense started when Newman doubled on a 1-0 count, scoring two runs.
• Clinton scored three runs in the fifth inning. Clinton scored its runs on a home run by #22.
• Marissa Jackson led things off on the rubber for Huron Chiefs Varsity. Jackson went five innings, allowing six runs on ten hits, striking out two and walking one.
• #13 led things off in the pitcher's circle for Clinton. The hurler surrendered four runs on three hits over one inning, striking out two and walking zero.  Thompson and L Fair entered the game from the bullpen, throwing three and two-thirds innings and two and a third innings respectively.
• Huron Chiefs Varsity tallied 15 hits in the game.  Newman, Emma Sic, Katie Kosykowski, and Jackson each racked up multiple hits for Huron Chiefs Varsity.  Sic and Newman all had five hits to lead Huron Chiefs Varsity.
• Clinton had 13 hits in the game.  Thompson, #13, #20, and E Fair all managed multiple hits for Clinton.  Thompson led Clinton with three hits in four at bats.
