It was the bounce back we needed after the beating we took this weekend. Despite the weather conditions the kids remained focused and energetic from start to finish. Defensively we still have some things to work through, but I also seen some growth in areas as well. Some plays were made today that were not made one game ago. Riverview battled and put more runners on than I would like, but we adjusted and answered each inning. For a team with so much youth, that was huge accomplishment. We never once felt complacent. 

• Sic Collects Four Hits As Huron Chiefs Varsity Defeats Riverview
• Emma Sic came to ballpark and meant business on Monday, tallying four hits and leading Huron Chiefs Varsity to a 18-7 win over Riverview.  Sic singled in the first, homered in the second, homered in the third, and singled in the fifth.
• Bats blistered as Huron Chiefs Varsity collected 13 hits and Riverview tallied eight in the high-scoring game.
• Huron Chiefs Varsity opened up scoring in the first inning, when Marissa Jackson singled on a 1-1 count, scoring one run.
• Huron Chiefs Varsity scored five runs in the fifth inning.  Huron Chiefs Varsity's big inning was driven by by Sierra Diegel and Logan Martin and a home run by Caroline Polites.
• Riverview scored three runs in the fifth inning.  Ruffner and Caraso each had RBIs in the frame.
• Gracie Brinkerhoff led the Huron Chiefs Varsity to victory in the pitcher's circle. Brinkerhoffsurrendered seven runs on eight hits over five innings, striking out eight.
• Devereaux took the loss for Riverview. The pitcher allowed 13 hits and 18 runs over four and two-thirds innings, striking out three.
• Huron Chiefs Varsity hit five home runs on the day. Sic had a homer in the second and third innings. Polites put one out in the fifth inning for a walk off mercy. Autumn Setser had a long ball in the third inning. Lauren Dioszegi had a four bagger in the fourth inning.
• Huron Chiefs Varsity racked up 13 hits.  Sic, Brinkerhoff, Jackson, and Erin Newman all collected multiple hits for Huron Chiefs Varsity.  Sic led Huron Chiefs Varsity with four hits in four at bats.
• Riverview collected eight hits.  Poe and Caraso each managed multiple hits for Riverview.
