If there is a time to call a game a 'good loss', this was the time. The Chiefs fell to the Summit Dragons by a score of 52 to 39, but fought hard the entire time against a very good, undefeated team. With a few of their top players out of the contest (Rory Callahan-ankle, Drew Slane-Vaca), the rest of the team played a solid, feisty game to keep it close and came up with their highest point total of the season. Defensively, the Chiefs put Joshua Hendrix on #2 from Summit, who is an excellent player that controlled the entire game last time these teams met. Using a Box and 1 defense to neutralize #2, the Chiefs were able to contain him much better and even the match-up between the two teams. Derek Anderson has a monster game, scoring 13 points to lead the team. He was aggressive going to the basket, going 9 for 16 from the stripe. He also contributed 9 rebounds along with 3 blocks. As always, Gavin Moczydlowski controlled the game, scoring 9 points and dishing 3 dimes. Luke Coll had his biggest game, adding 4 rebounds and a season high 4 steals along with 1 pt. Josh Hendrix (6 pts), Nik Crispin (5 pts), Cole Roberts (2 pts), Logan Munroe (2 pts) and Ethan Woolery (1 pt, 3 assts, block) all added to the balanced scoring attack. The Chiefs finish out their season tomorrow, away against Wagar in Carelton hoping to finish on a winning note. Hope to see you there.
