Boys 8th Basketball vs. Milan Middle School

Game Date
Nov 14, 2018
Score
: 37
MILAN MIDDLE SCHOOL: 40

The Renton Chiefs remain winless for the season, losing to Milan in a tough battle with a score of 37 to 40.  The Chiefs suffered a big loss early, losing arguably their most dominant player, Rory Callahan, moments into the first quarter with a sprained ankle.  He will be out for the next two weeks nursing that injury.  After being down at the half 18-10, the Chiefs made a strong push to get back into the game, outscoring Milan in the 3rd and 4th quarters.  Gavin Moczydlowski had a huge game, putting up a season high 17 points and making some huge shots when the team needed it the most.  One being a half-court shot as time expired in the 3rd quarter.  Derek Anderson (6 pts) and Joshua Hendrix (2 pts) combined for 18 rebounds to keep the game close.  Nik Crispin (4 pts), Luke Coll (4 pts), Drew Slane (2 pts) and Cole Roberts (2 pts) all contributed to the 37 points scored, which is the highest output for the season.  Down 6 points with only seconds left in the game, Gavin Moczydlowski hit a big three to give Renton a chance to tie the game.  The Chiefs had an opportunity to tie the game at the buzzer, but with a tough look, Ethan Woolery's attempt did not go in.

Renton faces the Dragons at Summit Academy Monday, hoping to get their first win of the season.  Hope to see you there.
