The Chiefs suffered their third straight loss to start the season, losing to the Pirates of Riverview with a score of 32 to 29.  Renton played like a new team compared to the first two games of the season, executing their plays and producing solidly on their full-court press.  Today was the first the Chiefs were able to play all 11 of their teammates, who have been fighting injuries and illness, and was a very hard fought game that went down to the wire.  Gavin "Muzzy' Moczydlowski had two good 3-point looks in the waning seconds of the game which didn't go in.  A blatant foul on the last attempt wasn't called which would have given the Chiefs a chance to tie it up from the free throw line as time had expired.  7 of the 11 players all contributed with the scoring for Renton, led by Muzzy and Nik Crispin who each had 7 points.  Rory Callahan put up 6 points but was most effective rebounding, grabbing 13 rebounds and a block.  Jeffrey Bowers (3), Luke Coll (1) and Joshua Hendrix (3) each added to the scoring, with Derek Anderson having a big break out for his first game putting up 3 points, 8 rebounds and a couple of steals.  Other notables include Drew Slane who had 3 dimes and a rebound and Ethan Woolery had a big block in the 4th quarter.

Despite the loss, I was proud of the team and the effort today.
