Huron United Drops Home Opener to GI

GROSSE ILE HIGH SCHOOL: 8
In the season opener and a much-anticipated home start, the unified team battled foe Grosse Isle. The Red Devils scored twice in the first period on a barrage of shots-24, at Junior netminder Noah Kilmark who saved all but two.
In the second period the Unified team did a great job fending of a 5-minute Major penalty in not allowing GI to score. After that great play, lapses in coverage in the defensive end and a continued offense by GI resulted in a 4-goal period for the visitors.
The third period saw little offense, but a few opportunities on a power play and come close shots by Blaze Daily, Cole Lambdin and Ethan Maloney missed by inches. GI scored two more goals to sate off with an 8-0 victor
