WALLED LAKE NORTHERN HIGH SCHOOL: 1
The bladers beat WLCWU in a tilt at the Brownstown Sports Center on Wednesday night. With a ton of shots on net, the team skated away with a 6-1 win. The big man-Tony Pentecost got the scoring going in the first period by tieing the game at 1 with an assist by Nathan Wincel and Cole McNulty.
The team just took charge of the game on the ice and notched 3 straight Penalty KIll or Shorthanded goals to take a commanding 4-1 lead. Senior Captain Darren Barber scored 2 straight shorties and then Clay Hightower scored to add insult to injury. Earning assists on these goals were Chris Begeman, TJ Potcova with 2, Zack Sawdy also with 2, Josh Pawelczyk, Zack Sawdy with one and also Bret Putnam with another.
Earning the victory in net was Senior goalie Collin Page who moves to 5-1 and is 3rd in the state with a save percentage of .934.
