In a rival game vs. SMCC in the consolation game of the Woodhaven Christmas Tournament, the NB-B lost in a close game 4-3.  SMCC scored early to take a 1-0 lead and the team tied things with a scramble in front and a blast from Xavier Ryznar to tie things 1-12.  Assists to Connor Mann and Cole McNulty on a nice shift with constant pressure on the puck.  

SMCC then score two consecutive goals in the second period to take a 3-1 lead going into the last stanza.  Again, like in the previous game, the team hustled and gained a 3-3 tie with two consecutive goals of their own.  Evan Estes scored his third goal of the weekend with assists to Xavier Ryznar and Connor Mann to make it 3-2 and the Ryznar scored with assists to defensemen Cole McNulty and Darren Barber.  

SMCC scored midway through the 3rd and it held up the remainder of the game.  The Player of the Game was awarded to Xavier Ryznar on his effort in the game starting on defense for the first two periods and then moving to forward in the third period.  Playing especially for the NB-B were the defensive blue-liners who challenged the puck and were more physical throughout the game.  

Also playing real well was Senior Jakob Patterson who switched with Ryznar and did a great job not only in the game but the weekend as well.
