Huron Chiefs beat Riverview Pirates with Stellar Pitching and Hot Bats
Huron defeated Riverview 6-1 on Wednesday for the 2nd time this year.
The Chiefs tallied three runs in the fifth inning. Ashton Warren and Micah Smith each had RBIs in the frame.
Gavin Moczydlowsky got the win for the Chiefs. Muzzy surrendered one run on two hits over six and a third innings, striking out 11. Micah Smith threw two-thirds of an inning in relief out of the bullpen. Smith recorded the last two outs to earn the save for Huron.
The Chiefs bats were on fire and tallied 14 hits. Cole Grunwald, Ashton Warren, Connor Grant, Gavin Moczydlowsky , and Micah Smith all managed multiple hits for Huron. Ashton Warren and Cole Grunwald each collected three hits to lead the offense for Huron.
