Huron Chiefs Early Lead Over Carleton Airport Sets Stage For Victory
Huron jumped out to an early lead over Carleton Airport and took home an 8-3 victory on Monday. The Chiefs offense scored early on a single by Jacob Handyside, a single by Ashton Warren in the first inning, a sacrifice fly by Rory Callahan in the second inning.
Cole Grunwald was the winning pitcher for Huron. The righthander surrendered three runs on eight hits over six innings, striking out nine and walking one. Micah Smith threw one inning in relief out of the bullpen. Smith recorded the last three outs to earn the save for Huron.
The Chiefs had another 11 hits in the game. Ashton Warren and Micah Smith each racked up 2 hits each for Huron.
