Callahan Strong At The Plate As Huron Defeats Milan

Rory Callahan helped lead the way for Huron over Milan 9-5 on Wednesday putting up 4 hits in the contest. Callahan singled in the first, singled in the third, singled in the fourth, and singled in the sixth.

In the first inning, the Chiefs got their offense started, when Cole Grunwald drove in Matt Williams on a sharp single to left field.

Huron pulled away for good with three runs in the third inning. In the third Micah Smith doubled on a 1-2 count, scoring one run and Connor Grant doubled on a 1-1 count, scoring two more runs.

The Chiefs tallied four more runs in the sixth inning. Gavin Moczydlowsky , Callahan, and Jaden Morse powered the big inning with RBIs.

Gavin Moczydlowsky was credited with the victory on the mound for the Chiefs. Gavin  surrendered one run on two hits over four innings, striking out five. Micah Smith threw three innings in relief out of the bullpen. Smith recorded the last nine outs to earn the save for Huron.

The Huron Chiefs totaled 13 hits in the game. Callahan, Grunwald, Moczydlowsky , and Grant each had multiple hits for the Chiefs. Callahan led all hitters with four hits in four at bats.
